The DESIGN and the INSTRUCTIONS on this device are BACKWARDS;and IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNINGS should NOT be tacked onas an "oh, by the way TIP" at the very end in small print.I am a grandparent buying my 3-year old a birthday gift,and I have been disappointed in the past when a Present is opened and it is not easily usable.The child's thrill from opening it quickly disappears as I reach for my reading glassesto decipher the instructions to figure out how this thing works.So I decided to carefully open this Present first, to reduce any hiccups; and I am glad I did.FIRST; I don't want my Present to kill my granddaughter,so please put all IMPORTANT SAFETY DETAILS... ON/OFF2. TIMER3. LIGHT INTENSITY4. COLOR CHANGE5. ROTATINGANYWAY, I think the quality of the device for the price is "fair" (as in just OK).The parts are cheaply made and for the price should includea screwdriver, batteries, or 5V Power Adaptor Plug.I'll buy my granddaughter an additional present so that she is not too disappointed.First thing, is when purchasing I was scared it was going to be a little too wild. It's actually calming! You can have it still or have it turn at a nice slow pace. You can have just white light or just a color (Aidyn prefers green). Also 2 and 3 colors or if you want to get wild, 4! They are mostly steady lights, but there are 2 or 3 alternating light options (almost like Christmas tree).Anyhow! The timer goes in 5 min incrimints up to forever. I've gone up to 4 hours. So we use it to wind down before bed; I set it for an hour. Then usually we put it on for 10min after that, then out! Boom!! I sometimes keep it on for myself since I've actually learned to love it when it's my turn to wind down. It's super cool.One downfall, when you take off the hard cone to make the stars go around the room, the dome is extremely smooshable. Fixable tho! So I wouldn't say not durable. Tip: I stick a push pin in one of the stars and pull out the dents. 3 year old got it 2x already and dog put his big paw on it another. Still turning haha and can't tell it's been repaired. I'd definitely buy another one if it gets too smashed one day.The lights are so bright.We’ve only had this light for one night but we love it!! Multiple setting options and the lights are beautiful, both with and without the dome on- simply magic! My 3 year old was in awe when we first turned it on. That reaction alone is worth the price. The star and moon projections are pretty blurry, even in our small rooms. The images look more like squares and flowers than stars but we don’t mind. The lights are very bright with the dome off, especially depending on the color, so we take the dome off for a night time dance party and put the dome back on when we’re ready to lay it down and need a night light. Easy set up and user friendly. You cannot turn on the light without first setting the timer. The timer goes up to 16 hours. If you want it on for an extended time, all you do is press and hold the timer setting button and it flies through the numbers. Beware that if you pass up the set number you wanted, say 60 minutes, the timer will not reset itself to zero when you finally make it all the way up to 995. So you would just need to turn it off when ready, or shut the light off and turn it back on to restart the timer and set it to the desired time, without passing it up again! I love the safety feature where the lamp never gets hot regardless of how long it is on, and I appreciate the different power options (battery or plug). I cannot speak to the longevity when using batteries. When rotating, you do hear the motor. It’s not terrible but I wouldn’t have that feature on to go to sleep. All in all, excellent for the price point. Hoping we get a lot of use out of it! Would definitely gift this and buy again.My Grandson loves his Star Projector Nightlite. He a says it is cool. He likes it when he goes to bed because it looks good in his room when all the other lights are off. I am very happy I got it for him.I bought this product for my daughter a couple of years ago. I was looking for something more similar to what I had as a kid but was unsuccessful at finding it but I did come across this and my daughter LOVE THIS!! We have to turn it on every night so she can sleep under the stars and she even try’s to take it with us when we go out of town lol! Just a couple weeks ago she knocked it off her stand and somehow shredded the cord but my dad had a new one for her only thing is the stars don’t route now since she shredded the original cord ??‍♀️ Kids are kids lol I would recommend this to anyone!! I set my daughters timer for 450 and it’s still going at like 2/3am and it starts at 9pm!Looked through so many star night lights until we found this one. We needed something that could stay on all night so our daughter could sleep, and this is the only one so far that stayed on. Love that it rotates and has multiple options. Took 1 star away because I would have liked if the dome piece was hard plastic since my toddler likes to play with it and dent it.Niece loves it as stars fill up her whole room.Says it's a really nice gift
